Vandals slashed the tyres of more than 40 cars in one night.
Residents in several streets in Rochdale woke to find their cars had been targeted by the thug.
The vehicles were parked in Rooley Moor Road, Emma Street, Edenfield Road, Viking Street and Molyneux Street.
One victim, Louis Blank, was left stranded and late for visiting his wife at North Manchester General Hospital.
He found that his Ford Mondeo parked outside his home in Molyneux Street had had both it's offside tyres slashed.
Mr Blank was forced to put his car in the garage for emergency replacements.
He said: "I visit my wife everyday. She was taken into hospital in December with Sepsis, a type of blood poisoning. All her major organs failed and she wasn't expected to live the night.
"She spent a month on a life support machine, hospital doctors think it's a miracle that she's alive. She's now making steady progress.
"My local garage is replacing the tyres, I don't know what it will cost - but they'll be expensive.
"If they couldn't fix the tyres today I would have had to get a taxi to North Manchester General, which would be about £30 each way.
"It's the sheer number of tyres that have been slashed - it could be hundreds.
"The police need to find out who's doing it and put a stop to it."
Residents are continuing to report incidents to the police, with the number of damaged vehicles rising.
Police officers are now checking CCTV footage from the area in an attempt to identify suspects.

Coincidence or do the local garages have something to do with it?

The area where this has happened is residential and not in the town centre area. I doubt there are many CCTV camera's here. Its usually a quiet area, but every so often a scrote does this type of thing. 2 years ago, this area had lots of car windows broken whilst fans sat watching a football match at Spotland Stadium a few yards away. It wouldn't surprise me to find it was the same people.
We all know the courts will not punish once they are found.

Thats why they slash tyres and vandalise property because they have no tyres and no property no self respect, no thought for their neighbour and to top it all they contribute nothing to society and cost society the most money.

The truth is, they just enjoy being the s--- on everyone's shoes. They're actually pathetic and worthless. So worthless as to be fully-disposable in my opinion.

Dead easy solution to this. The perpetrator has to pay for all the damage he's caused, if he doesn't have a job then he has to get one, and for evey week he remains unemployed he gets the birch, I think reparations would be made in a very short time, and I seriously doubt there would be any more reoffending.

I'm not trying to shift the blame, I just don't have any sympathy for those that will routinely break the law, for many motorists that will include speeding, using a mobile phone whilst driving, drunk/drugged driving , no insurance etc etc.
Basically, I despise the materialistic car culture society has become slave to that prioritises car parking over community/green spaces.
