ROCHDALE'S Muslim community will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha on Friday (27 November).
The special day marks the end of the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and to commemorate the offer of sacrifice of Prophet Ismail.
Springhill High School, Balderstone Technology College, Ashfield Valley Primary School, Broadfield Community Primary School, Deeplish Community Primary School, Heybrook Primary School and Spotland Primary School will close so children can celebrate at home with their families.

BlueManc - schools are closed for Christmas - a Christian holiday - for 2 weeks (ish) - therefore why shouldn't schools close for one day for another faith. I think it is a very good thing.
