A CHARITY night in Castleton in memory of Ann Hamill raised the magnificent sum of £2,520 for Springhill Hospice.
Mrs Hamill – who died of cancer – was the wife of Bob Hamill who organised last Friday’s concert at Newtown National Club.
There was entertainment from musicians Shane Hamill, Duncan Harvey and Caroline Harvey and Oldham Pipe Band. The MC was Derek Hamill.
Over the years Mr Hamill’s charity nights in memory of his late wife have raised nearly £32,000 for the hospice.
Mr Hamill later thanked everyone for attending and donating so generously.
Dean Connaughton, the hospice’s community fund-raiser, said: "Bob Hamill has supported the hospice for many years. It’s wonderful people like him and his family that help us here at Springhill Hospice to provide much-needed care for our patients and their families in their hour of need."
