YOUNGSTERS from Kirkholt and Balderstone now have a new weapon in their battle to get fit.

The all-new Kirkholt gym has been set up at Kirkholt Youth Centre.

Funded by Rochdale Council and Link4Life, it enhances the range of youth provision currently available at the centre.

Almost 50 eager young people turned up to register and were swiftly inducted into the gym, picking up a new fitness programme in
the process.

They have also been busy designing a logo and the winner’s design and the name for the gym will be unveiled at the official launch on Monday 23 February.

During the next week or so, the youth centre will employ Link4Life gym instructors for five sessions a week to work with youth workers to put on sessions.

Funding for this was secured by the young people themselves from the Rochdale Youth Opportunity Fund.
