KILT-clad sportsmen gathered at the Spring Inn to show off their strength and skill in a traditional Scottish event.

They lined up to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns in a haggis hurling contest to raise money for Springhill Hospice.

In teams of two, one person was the thrower,  hurling the haggis over his head, with the partner catching it in his kilt.

The haggis hurlers raised £85 for Springhill Hospice on the day, with the Spring Inn donating bottles of whisky to the charity for future auctions.
