Police: Death 'not suspicious'

Police and forensics teams at the scene

TWO men arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead have been released without charge.

The pair were held after the body of a 40-year-old was found at Royds Street, Turf Hill, Rochdale at 9pm on Thursday.

However, police say his death is no longer being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman added that the results of a post mortem were inconclusive and said further tests were being carried out.

The pair, aged 26 and 36 have been released from custody

Police were called to the house following reports from the Ambulance Service that a white man in his 40s had been attacked.

Forensics and officers from Greater Manchester Police’s major investigation unit had cordoned off the road and were at the scene making house-to-house inquiries on Friday morning.
