FOLLOWING the success of New Roch Revolution Live the Observer is again on the hunt for a selection of musical talent for a mega Christmas party.

The Christmas Eve gig is aimed at getting everyone in the party spirit for the big day and will feature the top five bands selected by BBC Radio Manchester DJs Michelle Hussey and Natalie-Eve Williams.

The DJs who present ‘The Manchester Music Show’ aim to play the best Madchester music and have a love of local music past and present; even co-presenting their show with the late Tony Wilson.  And with Natalie also helping to produce BBC Introducing their may even be a chance for the chosen bands to get their tunes played on air.

Each of the selected bands will play a set of their original tunes to a Christmas Eve audience at a packed out Twist club.  They will also be featured in the pages of the Observer and have their songs played and their band details displayed on the newly launched mega screens in The Wheatsheaf centre.

The eight-foot screens, which currently show movie trailers and advertisements for local businesses are viewed by hundreds of shoppers each day; and now local bands are being given the chance to have their sound heard too.

The first New Roch Revolution Live rocked August bank holiday weekend entertaining hundreds of music fans and raising over £1000 for Springhill Hospice and we are hoping that this festive spectacular will be an even bigger success.

If you would like your band to play at the Xmas Unsigned gig in aid of Springhill Hospice please send a demo CD containing at least two original tracks to:
