ROCHDALE band The Sticks are set to headline the launch party of a new venue hosted by Designer Magazine.

Following the success of All Ages Gigs running in South Manchester for the past year Designer Magazine are now launching permanent venue SSR in Downing Street, in Manchester city centre.

Taking to the stage will be Accidental Gentleman drawing on influences from Bloc Party, Snow Patrol and the Arctic Monkeys; indie-rock band Kaboom! and teen rockers The Madigans who have already received Radio 1 recognition.

Headlining the launch party are home-grown indie kids The Sticks fresh from their In the City slot, this band have had a furious year from playing the dizzy heights of Beetham Tower, to supporting The Courteeners at the Ruby Lounge and opening Manchester Versus Cancer 2008 at the MEN Arena.

There is also a chance for the fans to become part of the music with all of the bands having an album session recorded live on the night.

The SSR launch party will be taking place on Saturday 25 October starting at 6pm, tickets cost £5.
