Yes but come on - Silva was signed when playing a part in Spains world cup wining team.

I have to agree that the players signed this summer are not great signings - with the exception of Maicon. I think Maicon is a decent buy great going forward but suspect defending.

I think we need to give the players time - but from what i've seen of the signings there is nothing to write home about - as a club that just one the premiership we were in a position to sign great players and with those additions we could have put the rest of the premier to the sword but we didnt and if anything we've let them off the hook in that they have closed the gap on us
