Last nights attendance was announced (& reported) as being 71,521. Of course it wasn’t that, that was tickets sold; I’d guess a more accurate attendance figure would have been around the 50k mark… clearly 20k or so couldn’t be bothered turning up for what was in effect a meaningless game for our reserves.
All that said, before you Divs start your whining about empty seats, you should keep in mind that we don’t have subsidised prices at O.T - no Viagogo, no £1 offers for Kids, £5 OAP’s and £10 adult last minute deals in an effort to half fill our ground… my ticket last night was £48… likewise (I presume) the 20k or so who paid but couldn’t be bothered.
A game like last night, paying full whack, in these, your greatest ever times… City would have been lucky to have attracted as many who paid but couldn’t be bothered to turn up at O.T last night.
And speaking of Viagogo.. great isn’t it – 2 mates got tickets in East Stand lower off there for the derby… don’t worry, we’ll fill your ground for you!!
