For once, the headline used by the MEN "reporters" is spot on, Gossip, that's all this. Any story which uses "could go in for" means it's just gossip. There is nothing to back this up from the club, sources, or the player himself, just a way for someone to fill space and time, and to try and justify their salary. Look, I can it... "After a disappointing CL campaign, the club COULD make a move for Ronaldo to help their push for silverware next season. At the same time, they COULD also look to bring in Messi and Iniesta to bolster their attacking options." Does this mean I can have a job too? If you say enough names, in enough stories, you are bound to get one right at some point. But if WS does come to us in Jan, I can guarantee two things, a) a story here about how they brought it to us first and b) the "reporters" really had no idea and got 100% lucky.
