I despair at Yaya at times, but the facts are there to show that when we get to the business end of things he, at times, seems to drag us through single handedly. Of course, I would love to see him frightening the hell out of the opposition week in, week out, but realistically no one performs at their peak every single week. I don`t doubt Yaya has half an eye on the African Cup now, but I still back him 100% to step up on the big stage for us all the way to his departure for it. He`s an incredible athlete, and no slouch of a footballer, and come Sunday we`ll see the real Yaya again.
Our lads all play through varying niggles all the time, but the club quite rightly keeps the info in house. Yaya had every excuse for example vs Ajax to quit when his ankle got opened up, but he battled through for the club. He`s spent more time on the deck this season needing treatment, and these things do build up. Regular knocks do have an effect, but no one can accuse this lad of ever hiding.
