When Utd and City won the leagues in the sixties can anyone remember if Best, Law, Charlton, etc played in League Cup games. I seem to remember they could play up to 65 matches a season on some awful pitches but the strongest team played in most of the games league or cup. Because of Elf and Safety, these days a bad snowfall or icy roads can lead to postponed games because of access to stadiums. I am not sure a break would work in this country, the weather is too unpredictable. Why is Gill trying to change everything, is he becoming the Premier League version of Platini or Blatter???
