Well they won 8 track cycling golds (out of 11) at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, 7 from 12 in 2006 & 12 from 14 in 2010 while they won 5 from 12 at the 2004 Olympics so he probably had a point at the time.

Which makes their failure since all the sweeter but let's not get carried away!
