I don't get it why some simple-minded folk still that private businesses can pass on costs to the powerless end-user. When public property and services were sold off dirt cheap to capital corporations, we were told that the "free" market and competition would ensure that prices and profits would be so small some firms would probably go bankrupt. Private businesses ha no control over prices and profits. The market determines prices. Otherwise it would be like handing over a billion pound money-for-nothing scam to your own rich tribe would it not? The politicians and civil servants in London would never do that, would they? And bosses never meet at their local golf club to fix prices do they? That would be naughty.
