And this is an excellent example of why cyclists should ignore the law and always ride on the pavement, or where their safety is best considered; a cyclist is but a pedestrian on a piece of metal and can cause little, or no harm, to other pedestrians in the case of a collision. Where as were a cyclist hit by a car it would result in serious injury or death. Better the risk of a small fine than this!
