Number 1 the belief of a "hate crime", it is not a crime to hate, because hate is an emotion and a thought, as yet thoughts and emotions have not been made illegal.
Number 2 "You should not have to tolerate such abuse"...... there is no reason why you shouldn't, if you put yourself out there you have to take the good and the bad. I never hear anyone complaining about over-egged plaudits which may equally as untrue as any criticism.
