Jeremy Scholes - good points regarding Graham Hill & Steve Redgrave.

Botham? No. A one off summer (aided and abetted by Bob Willis & Graham Dilley, and not forgetting how woeful he was in the winter tour of 81).

Bobby Moore? Just a romantic vote. Why not Martin Johnson in 2003?

Difficult to compare across sports. But in 2012 Wiggins has won the Tour, Paris-Nice, Romandie and Dauphine - the only man ever to do so in a single season. Not just best of British, but up there with the most remarkable of cycling seasons of all time.
