Bills can be paid in cash. It's up to the tradesman to pay his or her taxes like the rest of us and the issue lies with the Revenue who need to ensure that all people (or companies) who should pay tax actually do. The company tax avoidance protestors are not right to excuse small businesses and say the Revenue should concentrate on big business. Every employee has to pay tax by PAYE and rightly so and self-employed should pay as well.
