Pork Barrel politics at its finest, are there sound strategical or operational reasons that having a Battalion with historic links to Bury help to meet, and so contribute to the defence on the nation, or the furthering of its ambitions abroad, or do this gaggle of politicians just think having links with their patch and maybe scouring a few extra votes is reason enough for its existence?
