Not cost effective is not the same as too expensive. The article only says patients lived 3.5 months longer - not an awfully long time although I know time is precious. but it says nothing about quality of life in that time either if £50k saved a life then I'm sure it would not be too expensive. but the fact it that 350k can save more than one life if spent elsewhere.
