£50,000 for three months is a LOT of money. The article states that the disease kills 2000 people a year and is on the increase, and half of those could be treated with this drug; 1000 * £50,000 = £50,000,000! - the NHS would soon be bankrupt at that rate.

A line has to be drawn in the sand somewhere and by someone and fortunately, it isn't you or me that has to make that decision, otherwise they'd be arguments of is £50,000 too much for a months, a weeks, a days extension of life??

The anger should be vented towards the drug companies who have large costs but make large profits.
