I heard about this at 7-20am on Key103 this morning, so the radio stations were informed.

As for trams at Crumpsall, they have to wait for the points to be re-set for them to change direction. Then they are timetabled to leave Crumpsall at a specific time, hence the wait on the inbound side.

As for waiting outside Victoria, the signal was most likely at red as there was a tram in the station, probably the one from Oldham Mumps. Once the go ahead for the removal of the signals is given then delays like this won't happen, as 2 trams can then enter the platform at Victoria at the same time. Until this happens, the drivers have to obey red lights. The trams will then be operated on a line of site basis on the segregated parts, like it is on the street running parts.

The signal at Debenhams coincides with the pedestrian crossing lights. The operators of Metrolink want to remove this signal, but the Council won't let them! Something to do with pedestrian safety.
