It may be worth noting that these strikes are about pension reform and do not focus on "massive cuts" to everyday working practices.

The fact that they are striking seems to amply demonstrate that they do share the same rights as everyone else.

Are you sure that the strike action has been instigated by the government, rather than the union and it's members?
