I work in a hospital in a non medical role, and am married to a doctor. I do not support the industrial action in the name of my own pension last year and I do not support. The salary I get paid in the NHS is higher than what I could expect in the private sector in a similar role, as is the case with most jobs in the public sector, the reverse was true years ago but it is just not the case anymore. If I was working in the private sector, I would never be able to afford a pension that would give me the benefits I get, or indeed will get from the new scheme. I don't see the justification in asking people who work in the private sector to effectively prop up a pension scheme that they will not be able to access.
