But this figure is distorted by few who earn over £500k pa. 90k is a fair average figure to use for most of them I think - although strictly speaking it is higher than that. It is certainly more than double what you are quoting. Their salaries have dramatically increased in recent years with very favourable pay deals in their favour. This is why pensions are becoming much more of an issue.
