Yes - they must be very hard pressed living off their 90k a year salaries and their 68k a year pensions when they retire. Lets all support them so that they take an increasingly large chunk of the Health Service budget in the future and the sick will be able to suffer even more. The rest of us, well we can get the plastic bowls out and go down to the feeding stations like they are doing in Greece right now. Their economy has been crippled by unaffordable worker salaries and pensions ,a poorly performing private sector and no tax revenue. Why dont the BMA wake up - doctors pension arrangements need to change coz the country cant afford them. Life expectancy and high final salaries are having an alarming impact on this countrys future pension costs. Every GP is now retiring with a pension pot of £1mil to £3.5mil. It is unsustainable and has to change. If it is allowed to continue and fat cat high earners in the public sector draw huge amounts we are going to be in a right mess.
