Exactly.
It wants to be the greenest city so how will it compete with Bath which is pretty much closed to traffic and is a cyclist and bus heaven.
Also the council ''will aim to slash carbon emissions as it contributes to an environmentally-friendly future'' well how when at present there are were about 18 million passengers at Manchester Airport in 2011 and they are planning expansion and predict numbers will one day be 55 million. So how do you 'slash carbon emissions' of 18 million by say 40% but have 37 million more passengers? Can't be done unless they are planning on building planes with zero emissions. Doesn't stack up.
I am all for this future growth and am behind it but how can it be achieved without any impacy whatsoever on the environment?
