still no mention of newton heath , have we become a forgotten corner of manchester ? our population is swelling yet our local ammenities are closed or closing down, shops lie abandoned and areas of wasteland lie unused , our youth are disheartened and left to their own devices and many are turning to crime and drugs, much of the housing stock is pre-war and run-down , surely this area of rich manchester heritage is deserving of some help.
