Of course it's a football ground. It's hardly an Old Trafford or Etihad though. Not even a Gigg Lane or Spotland. It's a 5000 capacity stadium that will give many local children and families something to do on Saturday's, bring in additional revenue to local shops, takeaways and pubs. Provide some employment and training opportunities both paid and voluntarily.
And every single penny spent goes back into the club in keeping the ticket and food prices low, the football quality high and just as important goes towards our many current community projects in Moston and Greater Manchester and provide lots more. Over a quarter of our revenue in 2011 went into community projects.
There are obvious concerns to those very local to the location but the club has been very willing to discuss and help erase these concerns with those concerned. The majority who are opposed it will have no effect on them whatsoever and use the old knocking down the pleasant green space. Yes that pleasant over grown fenced off lovely green land.
The ground only takes up a small area of the playing fields and will open up a lot of what is currently an eyesore anyway.
