I have never been a big fan of Johnston but he was miles our best defender last night and again without wishing to sound bias the central defence was crying out for Rio. I will balance my views in saying that Young was woefull and Milner not much better and our ability to do the basics like passing and keeping hold of the ball was dreadful. In personnel to call on I really think that Henderson and Kelly are just not ready for this level yet. They certainley haven't had the best of seasons with their clubs. I would go with Rooney and Welbeck up front and Walcott on the right flank. I have said before that I am not a fan of a right footed player playing on the left, so, daft as it might seem I would give Baines a go there simply because he can get to the by-line and cross it with his left. He is good on corners and free kicks and has not forgotten how to tackle. Whatever the team against the Ukraine will be I shall be surprised if we go much further but it has been won in the past by lesser teams of the tournament so we can but hope.
