Savage Mandarin, I think you'll find that 'these people' are already addressing their addictons by accessing appropriate treatment, which can be a hard and daunting step to take. All addictions, be it illicit substances, alcohol, cigarettes etc, are more successfully addressed when given the structured support from agencies, and this is a proven fact.

The most worrying aspect of all this is the impact that the loss of this service will have on mental health issues in the City, which should never be separtated from addiction. Manchester Drug Services's clients have diverse needs including complex mental health concerns/diagnosis. This matter seems to be low on the agenda in all of this.
