The injuries the poor child received were NOT “near life threatening” they were and still could be life threatening if an infection sets in.
Staffordshire bull terriers are usualy friendly dogs, good with children etc. Dogs that attack people usualy do so because of bad training and poor treatment. However any domesticated animal that attacks a child should be immediately destroyed. There is no other safe option.
The owner of such an animal should face criminal prosecution as though they themselves had commited the attach. They are responsible for the behavior of their animals. If you cant controle it, you have no right to own it.
