If I can ask the owners of Manchester Airport one thing: Look at airports in Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen, they are airports worth gaining inspiration from, Manchester's terminals look and feel outdated and are a mish-mash of stairs, claustrophobic corridors and low ceilings making everything look dark with too much emphasis on "DUTY FREE", so when you decide to invest in airport infrastructure PLEASE seek the inspiration from the Scandinavians, then you can look Heathrow in the face and make them all jealous :-D
