The first ever service from Manchester to Oldham Mumps ran many, many years ago. It was a train and faster than any tram will ever be. That level of service was axed two and a half years ago so that the tram mafia could ruin another fast segregated public transport corridor with their current vogue playthings.

You can still drive to Oldham quicker than the tram - rush hours excepted, and of course - the car goes where you want to go, it doesn't dump you in the rain to wait for a bus or walk the rest of the way.

Proper through ticketed intermodal public transport is what is needed - not this pathetic system that stands aloof from the rest of Manchester's public transport, requiring separate tickets and the ability to hold on for grim death as with only 42 seats per tram, sitting will be for the fortunate few!
