Anyone notice in the video the scandalous length of single section track at Newton Heath at the waste plant! I honestly cant believe after all the huge expense they have a installed a length of single running shared track on what will be a busy line. You will only need a breakdown on this section for it to come to a grinding halt in both directions.

Also what a waste of millions of pounds just for all this infrastructure between Werneth and Mumps to be ripped up and demolished in around 18 months time. It will be interesting to see how the trams cope in winter with the long steep climb up from Featherstall Road to King Street which is going to be a really steep hill for a tram to negotiate With Oldham at 213m above sea level there is nowhere else on the system that will suffer such adverse freezing weather conditions in winter.

When the route up the very steep hill into town becomes impassable in winter they could divert the trams via the tunnel to get to Mumps.

Oops but wait a minute! At great expense that will have been dismantled and all gone by then.
