I don't want to see Lewandowski paired with Rooney at the expense of Wellbeck. I think we should persist with Rooney/Wellbeck as the first choice, Chicho as an impact sub (or when first two need rested) and a 4th who can do a job when needed, I don't think Lewandowski would want that role. If Keane hadn't been injured, I would have liked him to be the 4th striker. After all, our problems last year came from leaking goals, not from a a lack of quality up front, and that was often because we gave up too much possession in midfield.
Kagawa is more likely to play the second striker role, coming from midfield, and we need to get the best out of Rooney, Kagawa, Valencia, Young, Wellbeck, Hernandez (maybe Nani). Lewandowski would mean one of those being sidelined, whereas Modric would improve the play of all those in front of him.
Also can't see Cleverly being used much if we get Kagawa and Modric. I think Carrick will still have the holding role, but that does him, and us, a dis-service. We need somebody like YaYa. His agent said he could join a big club, maybe he would take £100k/wk pay cut for the job satisfaction.
