I enjoy following Tom Watson, the leading voice on hacking by newspapers. He posts the trivial (what type of music he's listening to) along with the interesting including links to interesting sites. I'm sad that Graham Stringer is not on twitter as my MP. I live in a sheltered housing street and despite everybody being over 50, the majority are on the internet. My own mother is 77, and not only is she on the internet but she is at college studying computers. A lot more people are on the net than Mr Stringer thinks. I suspect that he thinks that people will use it to give him more constituency work, but how much can you get into 140 characters. Mr Watson has a twitter account and a blog and certainly uses his web presence well. He regularly posts on his areas of interest.
Mr Stringer should reconsider his decision not to joing those of us in the 21st century. If you are older, and have some arthritis like me, it's far easier to type than it is to hand write a letter.
