I am sorry but I do not have much sympathy here for them at all. Many private yes private companies have had to cut their cloth accordingly, and often right down to and actually into the bone in order to stay afloat in this current appalling economic climate,so why should Salford University staff be all of a sudden immune from the outside ie the real world?and did their staff, the lecturers and academics come out in support when people were losing their jobs in the private sector,or had to have their terms and conditions butchered in order to keep their jobs?I am sorry that I sound harsh but if it is deemed good enough that one group of people have to be made redundant in these lean times, then it is something that others like Salford Uni staff have to accept as well.
