If they're not needed-A: store them down the saltmine at Winsford-loads of space there and they will be safe until someone with a better idea of how to run a library comes along. B: sell them to the residents of manchester and let them decide what to do with them. No-one is giving anything away these day and council should try to get some cash back if only to honor the memory of the original subscribers. BTW this is one of the world's great libraries - it was built circular (i was told) because there is no end to learning-let's hope the pen pushers don't prove this wrong and put an end to a facility which must have aided millions of mancunians to learn & develop.
