Some comments on here are along the lines of "Another non story as usual. Any library has to occasionally clean its stocks over time; to make sure it's current" - this "stock cleaning" involves the removal of somewhere between 30 and 50% of the library's entire stock!! Figures are hard to verify as the process has been shrouded in secrecy. The Library was created by public subscription and is run by our elected Council and yet the Disposal Policy - including what items will be destroyed and what criteria are used - is apparently not in the public domain.
