Spot on about the Kaka affair. Milan were clearly using City as a PR stepping stone to appease their fans prior to selling Kaka to Madrid. Unfortunately City's impeccable behaviour (ie in releasing absolutely nothing to the press) caught the corrupt underbelly of football that is Italy's elite teams by surprise and so they were forced to 'leak' the news in order to achieve their aims. The only mistake Cook made was not realising that Kaka was never going to sign for City in the first place (although I bet he wishes he had now!).
Very proud of Gary on this point, and also the great job he did for the club. Just needed to realise he was not a front man and should have got somebody else to talk to the manipulative English press.
