Sorry to burst your bubble Baron but Eversholt Leasing (formally HSBC Rail) bought the new trains & while First Transpennine receive 8.4 pence per passenger mile in subsidy, the other two First franchises between them pay the Government 9.8 pence per passenger mile.

So FTPx actually cost the 'taxpayer' nothing!
