I was 21 and lived in Wythenshawe at the time, we had just got over the Shadow Moss Road crash (late 50s), I remember looking at the patch of ground the pilot landed on in Stockport and wondering at what an amazing job the pilot did in finding it, the only patch of green around. A truly amazing piece of flying.
