The teacher in this case obviously did not make any moral or ethical judgement and the role of the teacher was to support the pupil in her decision to have the abortion. The young girl in this case had obviously not felt at all comfortable telling her parents and went to her teacher at school, lets turn it around, if the young girl had had the abortion un-supported by school staff and then had difficulties later on with her mental state, all you people who say the school are wrong would be the first to say, why did she have no support from her school. A teachers role is a lot more than just to read out of a book and tick a few sheets nowadays, i for one commend the way the school and the teacher have dealt with this issue and find it comforting to know that kids in Salford have someone to rely on, even if its not their parents!
