I think it's sad that people are blaiming Metrolink / staff members for an uncontrollable failure of technology that happens many times a year on railways and tramways the world over.
Overhead lines snap occasionally. It's not predictable and it's just one of those things. I think people would do better to be understanding of these incidents rather than pointlessly attributing blame for something that wasn't anybody's fault.
