GMP are not holding the line at the moment. Can the MEN ask to see how many people are on duty in the early hours? Because I have information that entire boroughs (not just town centres, the entire boroughs) are routinely left with less than 10 police officers every day. All it takes is one incident and there is no one to come to YOUR house if someone is trying to break in.
Their answer? Apparently there is something called "Cross Border Policing" where someone from a neighbouring borough can be called on but, of course...... they don't have enough officers neither!
And protecting Response Policing Roles? Two major inner city boroughs are to become one soon. But what was once covered by 4 Inspectors (think of a PC as the workers, the Sergeants as the Foremen, and the Inspectors as the site managers) went down to 2 about a decade ago. And now it is going down to just 1? And that is being rolled out across the Force?
Lies and statistics. I pray for the Response Officers left almost totally alone at these times. Times when burglars are most active of course.
