That would require the various candidates to actually make themselves known to the voters. I'm in the city centre ward (until the boundaries change next year when apparently I'll be in Gorton whilst 3 doors along is still in the city centre) and I received not a single leaflet, visit, or any form of contact at all from any of the candidates before the recent elections other than my polling card from the Town Hall. I went to vote with no idea who any of them were other than their party affiliation on the ballot paper. Perhaps these people might want to consider that they have a responsibility to actually reach out to their potential constituents if they want us to vote, otherwise why should we bother if they're not interested in us?
