J Pinnock, to a certain extent I agree, a business should not be able to block competition against themselves because it becomes anti-competitive and will allow price fixing to occur.

However, in this particular case. As I understand it, Bruntwood agreed to a contract which stipulated that there would not be another competing business in the same building. Therefore she has a legal right to contest Bruntwood breaking her contract. It will be up to a judge to decide to what extent that clause is applied.

I think Bruntwood are putting profit ahead of fair business practice and I hope Vivienne wins!
