Local elections should be about local matters and not be an opportunity to give central government a beating. In fact the very low electoral turnout and Labour wins in the local elections are justified by some to call for a change of direction. How strange when the majority of the electorate did not bother to vote due to many reasons. It is normal for central government support to decline in mid term of a parliament and no doubt many local councillors will be making loud noises about the actions of the coalition government. However 2015 will be the real date when the majority will decide which party to trust in sorting out the economy.
